On Science and Fiction, January 7 2013
Happy new year! On behalf of the Junior Fellow Lecture Series committee I would like to invite you to the first Junior Fellow Lecture/WIDEN of 2014. Please join us at 7:45pm on Tuesday, January 7th in the Upper Library for three lectures and discussion under the theme “Science and Fiction”. We have a promising panel of Junior Fellows who will be presenting on the topic.
Bryn Orth-Lashley (Astronomy & Astrophysics), “Alien Worlds: the Stuff of Science Fiction?”
Joanna Pokorny (Anthropology), “Transhumanism: does this mean that science and modern thought go out the window?”
Jesse Kancir (Medicine), “Narrative medicine as an antidote for apathy in healthcare workers”
The discussion will be moderated by a journalism fellow you are all likely familiar with, José Peralta.
All members of the community are more than welcome.
